Raam Kannada Film Music Review: :

Raam is ready for anything! Warning listeners- the promise of ‘anything’ includes powerless, punch-less, gawky tunes. From the maker of gratifying tunes that ruled the sound scene (Gaja, Gaalipata, Payana, Krishna and the very recent hit number ‘Hey Paroo’), Raam’s music falls flat with a loud thud. Hopefully this ‘thud’ wakes up Harikrishna!

In the typical Power Star style, Puneeth lends his voice to one of the songs. The star voice does not help much in saving the number or the sinking album. Out of the six tracks, two songs are listenably groovy, the rest lack luster.

Le Le Ammana Magale (Tippu, Megha): Opening with Cadbury’s and a volley of gaalis, Le Le Ammana Magale is one of the listenable numbers. It’s the churmuri of Hindi, English, Telugu and Tamil vocabulary that is liberally sprinkled in by Nagendra Prasad that lends a cute twirl to the track.



Neenendare Nanage (Sonu Nigam, Nanditha): Nanditha’s clear crispy tones mellowing in with the mesmerizing voice of Sonu Nigam singing out ‘Neenendare Nanage Ista Kanoo’ becomes a little bit of ‘Kashta’ for the listener. Not a bad number, but fails to impress.

Nanna Tutiyalli (Udit Narayan, Sowmya Rao): If ‘Neenendare Nanage’ did not impress, this Tutiyalli number depresses. The love song, winds long and relentlessly- relentless of the listener’s plight.
Raam-Puneeth-Priyamani

Hosa Gaana Bajaana (Puneeth Rajkumar, Suri, Suresh): Yours Puneeth- Hosa Gaana Bajaana, carries the mark of the power star. Puneeth’s raw, rusky voice stands out without an introduction and the ‘step Haakku, beat Maadu’ style of the track grows on you.

Prema apart, ‘Shishira’ has several more talking points. Swaraj boasts that his film has a 3.40 minute long song, which was shot in one long complicated shot with the help of 200 floodlights.

If you think this here is a ‘tall’ claim, there’s more. ‘Shishira’ also stars Santosh Kumar who’s a whopping 7 feet 8 inches tall, who plays the villain.
Here’s what Manju has to say about his maiden offering. “Shishira is not only a story-based movie but also a very technical film. We shot for around 30 days from 6 am to 2 am and slept for only four hours.

Shishira Kannada Film Review :
Horror films are as rare as a hen’s teeth in Kannada Cinema. Good horror films are even rarer! But debutant director Manju Swaraj has managed to create a film that is spooky and engaging till the end, with the help of very few resources such as a haunted house with a predictable past, a newcomer (Yashas), a 7.5 feet villain, and a brilliant camera work by Suresh Babu.



Shishira is the story of a guy (Yashas Surya) who gets trapped in an abandoned bungalow after having been worked up by his own audacity. Expectedly, he stumbles upon a diary waiting to be discovered, which happens to be that of Prema who died in that house. As the night progresses, the events in that diary starts to haunt the home-alone Yashas, and then the panic strikes in and the night unfolds every event that a self respecting haunted house can conjure up in the span of one night.

For a story like Shishira, the songs were totally uncalled for. Although the songs by debutant music director Ajaneesh Lokhanath are melodious and catchy, they act like the holy water sprinkled upon the menacing ghost, chasing all the horror and excitement away. Picture this… There is a sequence where Prema and her two kids get stabbed by a seven and half feet villain. Just when they’re about to die, the film breaks out into a melodious flashback song! In fact, except for the first song (Vidyege Dasanagu), almost every song dilutes whatever horror momentum that Manju Swaraj has built and gives sort of commercial break to the viewer. But full marks to Lokhanath for the background score.

Not Without You Mandarin Film Synopsis :
Based on a true story and powered by a gripping and very natural realism, "No puedo vivir sin ti" (Spanish for 'I can't live without you') tells the story of Li Wu Hsiung, a middle-aged man in Taiwan who makes a meagre living by doing odd-jobs for little money. He has a young girl whose mother went away years ago, leaving father and daughter alone. However Li is not her legal guardian, which becomes a problem when he tries to enrol her in school. The government decides to remove her from his care. He then does everything he can to get her back. Taiwan's official submission to the 82nd Academy Award in 2010 for Best Foreign Language picture.

Spanish Film Review:

No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti (不能沒有你) is an intimate portrait of the relationship between a father and his daughter. Wu-hsiung, played by Chen Wen-pin (陳文尉), lives in an abandoned warehouse by the harbor in Kaohsiung where he undertakes the dangerous job of diving to repair boats. His daughter Mei, played by Chao Yu-Hsuan (趙祐萱), is his constant companion. Although Wu-hsiung doesn’t have muchmoney he obviously cares deeply for his daughter. When the police come to inquire about Mei’s household registration and sending her to school a bureaucratic nightmare begins.

No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti is based on a true story. The law in Taiwan doesn’t permit the biological father of a child to be legally registered as the parent if they were not married to the mother. Even though Mei’s mother disappeared long ago Wu-hsiung cannot be legally recognised as Mei’s guardian.

The portrayal of the bureaucracy is very realistic. It reminds me of two documentaries I recently saw by Mayaw Biho, What is your Aboriginal Name? (請問番名？) and I Got My Name Back (把名字找回來). They show the difficulties indigenous people in Taiwan face in registering their original names in their own language. Again this is something that is such a basic right, yet involves coming up against a brick wall of bureaucracy. InNo Puedo Vivir Sin Ti the civil servants and police fail to provide any real help saying they are bound by the regulations. A legislator, who was Wu-hsiung’s primary school classmate, is the only one who provides any real assistance.



Yet not even the legislator can counter the wheels of bureaucracy once they are in motion. Wu-hsiung then engages in an increasingly desperate struggle to maintain custody of his daughter.

Film Review :

This movie has just won the 'Silver Bear' award at the Berlin Film Festival in the 'Generation' section. The award is well deserved. The charismatic young lead actor who terrorises his neighbours and family carriesthe film on his slight shoulders. It is cleverly structured with laughter and tears throughout. The dialogue is sharp and witty and the characters well drawn. On a more serious notethe film highlights the severe problems disturbed youngsters left to their own devices can have. Another reviewer compared it to 'Home Alone' but it is much deeper and (with a suicide attempt) far darker than the American comedy. Filmed in Canada with French dialogue it deserves to be seen by a much wider audience. Strongly recommended!

The movie gives us so much character development and processes it rather amazingly over the 2 hours the film goes on, it's one of the few movies thus far to really get a connection with your characters. Leon and Lea are not perfect, they are down right evil, but there intentions are pure. Leon stealing from other peoples houses to get a ticket to fly to Greece to see his mother whom abandoned him. And Lea trying to find her father, who has been on a business trip for over 2 years. None of them are perfect but, you still feel for them, and get attached, hoping for the best.



By the end of the movie you smile knowing that, Leon has kept one thing for himself: Hope. That even though a lot has happened in his life he can change, and hope for the better, hope for a new change on himself, hope to one day see his mother once again.

The film has so much and without spoiling every little detail, this is one I recommend to buy, it's not a perfect film, there is no such word for a film, but it is unique, amazing and touching. A pure gem. And the acting is done so well so real, it puts to shame anything Hollywood has put together.

For the reviewer who stated that this film is like Home Alone, I ask this, when in home alone did his parents divorce, or he vandalize a whole house, or cut himself and lie to to keep an alibi, or even swear. This movie is nothing like Home alone this is a masterpiece and is no John Hughes family comedy, this would be the Coen brothers take on Home Alone if anything.

Sweetgrass Movie Review :

BERLIN — There’s plenty of time for rumination during “Sweetgrass,” an intriguing but overly demanding portrait of rural Montana that concentrates on sheep and their herders. The sole segment of an ambitious nine-film academic project to venture beyond art galleries and installation spaces, “Sweetgrass” will find welcoming pastures at specialized documentary festivals, but wider appeal would require another edit or two.

Co-directors Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Ilisa Barbash spent several years among the people of Sweet Grass County, Mont., using video cameras to record intimately the everyday details of their activities. Dividing editing and camerawork duties, they’ve crafted an unadorned, empathetic and patient study of rural lives — human and ovine — that’s also a gruff elegy for a dying industry.

In a touch that, like several aspects of the enterprise, recalls Yu Guangyi’s superior recent Chinese variant “Timber Gang,” end titles inform us that we’ve been watching the last time this area’s sheep were transported from low to high ground for summer grazing. It’s an arduous activity that drives one herder beyond the breaking point: Frustrations are vented in an extended, entertainingly expletive-studded rant, the vehemence of which would make Christian Bale blush.

Several other sequences engage, illuminate or startle, but these are, in the end, too few and far between. And the evident practical advantages of standard-issue digital video — on what must have been a notably tough shoot — are outweighed by the resulting, relatively undistinguished visuals. Such Arcadian subject matter and sublime terrain cry out for high-definition DV or, ideally, 35mm film.

The directors succeed all too well in evoking the sedentary, unhurried pace of country life: Many shots and sequences drag unproductively and repetitively, on and on. This means that, for some drowsy viewers, watching “Sweetgrass” ironically might prove an effective substitute for counting sheep.



Plot Summary: A paean to the waning world of the Old West, Sweetgrass captures modern cowboys’ overland journey, wrangling thousands of sheep, as they move across Montana’s Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains, amid sweepingly dramatic vistas and endless skies. In this movie there is so mush of drama taken place and we would love to see the new varieties used to make it more complicated at times.

Ben Singer was the main character of this movie and he was straggle in all ends of his life. It was not a movie for looser. It was a movie for beginner, who been able to trace the important expects of live and love. It was the crisis many felt in modern day life style and guys who lost the way in life might have a good road of success opened in the movie. Wonderful World 2010 movie brings more and more drama and it could be easily made the audience stuck to it.

In this movie this person did have lot of latent and he was still not been able to discover him self. There for he needs help from others to know what people think of him? It was a nice movie caption of a week end dad and with his daughter around it can get more offensive at times too. That particular drama between dad and daughter are perspective very much. There for this movie Wonderful World 2010 do have a good temperament to work with and it almost out played the adventure it comes in the movie. In the movie it took drug use as a negative minded appearance and it did have a good important massage to the fans. Marijuana smokers are used as symbols of reckless and irresponsible behavior. There are several other social symbols of communicating used in the movie.

All these really matters in the end of the day and it do make more drama. His Senegalese roommate Ibou did much of the mind clearance of this man while they play chess. It was not only a game for them it was kind of way they used to share the ideas about life. It was very educated movie for teens and it could be a good drama movie for those who still in waiting some one or some thing to walk towards for success. As it was in the movie this guys week end supposed to become more effective as he meets insensitive municipal employee.

Who becomes the person woman to leads him the right manner of living. It did make good relations among them and after that more attraction comes on to their personal life. To some extent the movie director Josh Goldin been able to expand the story very well. This movie will be released on January 8th, 2010 (wide). Movie was cast with Matthew Broderick, Sanaa Lathan, Michael K. Williams, JodelleFerland staring and it could be one of the finest comedies for sure. Even you might not been able to read more in it.
