This story is about Nuclear test at Pokharan in the year 1998. It was the year when India and Pakistan were on the verge of a war. The bitterness between both the nations was at its peak. But declaring a war wasn’t all that easy especially for Pakistan. So they planned to attack India by hiring a few militants. When Indian officials got this information they realized that there is only one man who can do the job for them and that is Mr. Jawahar.

At the time of partition Jawahar had left all his relations, settled in Delhi with his father and started his business. Since his roots were from Pakistan his contacts were still alive and he knew all the influential people there. That was exactly why he and his services were used during the 1965 war with Pakistan.

Although dedicated to the benefit of his country, Jawahar’s son Jatin, serving in Indian Army was declared traitor by the BSF in 1978. unable to bear such humiliation, Jatin commits suicide. Due to this shock, Jatin’s wife loses her voice forever. One death shocks the whole family and changes everything overnight.

Jawahar runs around to prove that his son was a patriot and not a traitor but since Jawahar is a secret agent he is neither heard nor was he ever awarded any medal for his credible work in the past. Eventually he is even thrown out of job and was forced to the leave the lanes of old Delhi where he lived to move house to Tagore gardens. Secret agent Jawahar now had only his granddaughter Sameera to live for.

Inspite of such a treatment from his country, Jawahar once again agrees to work as a secret agent. His only condition is that his son will be cleared of the black spot on his career. Since Jawahar is too old now, his grand daughter Sameera is put on the job of secret agent. Sameera goes to Pakistan to get those important documents that hold the information about militants and their plans to enter the Indian border.

Former Miss India turned actress Gul Panag is excited about her upcoming film 'Fatso', which she says is her first love story.

"'Fatso' is my first love story, I have never done a proper love story before. We wanted to name it 'A Rectangular Love Story' as it involves three men in love with one woman," Panag said.

Directed by Rajat Kapoor, the movie was recently screened at the South Asian Film Festival in New York. Panag has teamed up with the likes of Ranvir Shorey and Purab Kohli for the movie.

"I am really happy the film has got good reviews at the festival in New York. I like working with people like Ranvir Shorey and Rajat Kapoor," said Panag, on the sidelines of the Youth Theatre Festival in the national capital.

Fatso to premiere in New York South Asian Film Festival 2009

The prestigious 2009 South Asian Film Festival in New York, to be held between October 28 to November 3, will have a red carpet Premiere for an Indian feature, Fatso, a film by Pritish Nandy Communications. "Fatso is a fantastic film and it’s a great pleasure for us to make it our Centrepiece Premiere at the Festival", says Galen Rosenthal, Director of the New York Film Festival.

Producer Pritish Nandy and Director Rajat Kapoor will attend the event in New York as special invitees of the Festival and will walk the red carpet for Fatso. Joining them will be members of the film’s ensemble cast, Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, Purab Kohli, Gunjan Bakshi and Neel Bhopalan. A romantic comedy, Fatso is Director Rajat Kapoor’s fourth film, after Raghu Romeo, Mixed Doubles and Mithya, all of them critically acclaimed. Rajeshwari (Tabu) exemplifies the quintessential Indian middle class woman with the aspiration and ambitions to reach the next higher social stature in her society.The film is based in a B-town centre of India and carries the mentalities and the true essence of the "Great Indian middle class".

Dear John English Film Full Plot Summary :

Dear John is a three part book that starts out with 23 year-old John Tyree, an army enlistee.
The Prologue starts of with the ultimate question, "What does it mean to truly love another?" John Tyree watches as he relives every memory, emotion, and touch while falling in love withSavannah Lynn Curtis.
Part I John as a little kid struggled with finding the balance between himself and his father. While on leave from the Army, he meets Savannah. She goes to UNC Chapel Hill in North Carolina and is in Wilmington, NC to work for Habitat for Humanity.

They become quick friends after John dives into deep ocean water in order to retrieve her fallen purse. At a bonfire, with wild college students, John meets Savannah's friend Tim Wheddon. John quickly learns of how inviting and mature Savannah and Tim really are. After the initial meet, John and Savannah meet again at the beach where he teaches her to surf. They then quickly more than just friends. At the end of John's leave, Savannah meets with him at the pier. She mentions that she thinks John's distant father has Asperger's. Asperger is a developmental disorder which would explain why John's dad is distant, has the same exact schedule and conversation everyday, and is fairly only interested in his gigantic coin collection.

After having this conversation, John quickly gets mad and accidently hits Tim right in the nose, breaking it himself.Savannah and Tim forgive John for what he did. Before he departs, he promises Savannah he'll marry her when he completes his deployment.
Part II, John comes home on leave and him and Savannah spend a very close night together while at one of the empty project houses for Habit for Humanity.

Savannah writes him a letter, beginning with Dear John, that promises her love to him. John is very excited to come home to Savannah; however, due to 9/11, John feels the duty to reenlist in the Army. After years away from each other, Savannah writes John another letter. It starts with Dear John and ends with good-bye.

Part III John's father dies after suffering from several heart attacks. He sees Savannah one day and finds out that she married Tim and has been living with Tim and his brother Alan, who suffers from Autism. John, making the decision of his life, sells his father's coin collection in order for tim to find treatment for his Melanoma. John decides to do this after realizing that if a man is selfless enough to let the love of his love go to another man, than he is worth living. Tim was on his death bed but still cared forSavannah's safety and happiness. The treatment for Tim works and he is realeased from the hospital. John does not regret ever loving Savannah .

Dear John Hollywood Movie Review :

I saw "Dear John" at a special screening and I wasn't expecting much. I thought it was going to be a decent romance film. I hoped this movie came halfway as good as "The Notebook". My very low expectations of this film were pretty cynical. But I said Hey, what could happen? And when the movie finished, I was fulfilled. This is one of the best movie experiences, I have ever had. (Avatar is my first) "Dear John" made me cry, laugh, smile, and gitty. The acting is great from both main characters. This movie is definitely for couples. The girls will like it cause they can connect with it, and possibly even guys. I recommend for everyone to see this film. It is truly touching, beautiful, romantic flick. This film might even rival "The Notebook" cause its that good.

Bei der obligatorischen Mutprobe gerät der Anwärter allerdings in Lebensgefahr und wird ausgerechnet von dem im Rollstuhl sitzenden Kai gerettet. Dieser kann sich ebenfalls nichts Größeres vorstellen, als von den Vorstadtkrokodilen aufgenommen zu werden. Doch für die ist Kai nur ein "Spasti". Er wird erst Interessant für die Clique, als er einen nächtlichen Einbruch beobachtet.
Kritik Für viele, Ende der 1960er oder Anfang der 70er Jahre Geborener, stellten die Vorstadtkrokodile, die erstmals 1977 verfilmt wurden, eine Art Kompass ihres jugendlichen Wertesystems dar. Vor allem aber für Kinder aus der Arbeiterschicht lieferte die Geschichte reichlich Identifikationspotenzial. Nach über 30 Jahren erlebt die Jugendgang mit der zahnbewährten Echse als Wappentier nun ihr cineastisches Comeback. Und auch wenn die neuen Krokos nicht ganz soviel Biss wie die Vorgänger besitzen, weht ein feiner, leicht anarchischer Revivalwind durch die triste Vorstadt.

Die "Gang" besteht aus Olli (Manuel Steitz), dem Chefkrokodil; Maria (Leonie Tepe), dem einzigen Mädchen in der Truppe, die so was wie die mahnende Stimme der Vernunft bei dem wilden Haufen ist; Frank (David Hürten), einem etwas ungehobelten Rüpel aus kaputter Familie; Elvis (Nicolas Schinseck), ein Mann weniger Worte, dafür stets Mucke auf den Ohren und die Ambition eines Tages Rockstar zu werden; Peter (Robin Walter), dem ängstlichen Quoten-Nerd und Jorgo (Javidan Imani), dem griechischen Gastarbeitersprössling mit Handyfetisch. Natürlich ist da noch der bereits erwähnte Hannes - bis eben an der Dachrinne hängend - der es gerade erst zu Krokodilehren gebracht hat und Kai. Der hat Hannes zwar das Leben gerettet und würde gerne auch ein Krokodil werden, aber der Rest der Clique will den "Spasti", wie sie ihn unfein titulieren, nicht dabei haben.

One of the film's I'd hoped would make the local festival circuit is Jessica Hausner's Lourdes. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival to very positive reviews and has just picked up another accolade, top honours at the Seville Film Festival.

A low-key comedy which approaches questions of faith through the eyes of a demoralized skeptic, the film stars Sylvie Testud as Christine, a wheelchair bound woman who makes her way to Lourdes. Unlike her companions (she's there on a religious pilgrimage) Christine isn't interested in a miracle cure instead, she's simply interested in finding company and friendship.

I can’t imagine how a film (a comedy at that!) that digs deep and questions ideas of miracles, shrines and religion can do so without coming across as either too fluffy or simply mean but by all accounts, Hausner manages to find a balance that works and judging from the various awards, a formula that works with great success.

W swoim trzecim filmie Jessica Hausner, nie szczędząc dobrodusznej ironii, analizuje socjologiczny fenomen francuskiego sanktuarium w Lourdes. Fabuła skupia się na milczącej, sparaliżowanej Christine, która jeździ na pielgrzymki przede wszystkim dlatego, że ma podczas nich zagwarantowaną całościową opiekę medyczną. Na miejscu, w luksusowym domu wypoczynkowym, wolontariuszka Maria (Lea Seydoux), która ma się opiekować przykutą do wózka inwalidzkiego dziewczyną, zaczyna zaniedbywać swoje obowiązki, flirtując z oficerem Kuno (Bruno Tadeshini). Irytuje to surową, skrywającą pewną tajemnicę, siostrę przełożoną Cecile (Elina Lowensohn). Przystojny mężczyzna zwraca też uwagę Christine.
