Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? Hindi Movie Review

Warner Bros. Pictures and Wide Frame films launched the official website of their forthcoming light hearted comedy Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? yesterday, at Novotel Hotel, Juhu.Romantic Movie Online Movie Trailer Bollywood Movie Online This website was launched by lead actor Ajay Devgn in the presence of his co-star Konkona Sen Sharma and producer Amita Pathak and Director Ashwni Dhir.Amita Pathak’s father Kumar Mangat was also present at the event with director friend Satish Kaushik.
Ajay Devgn inaugurated the website in an interesting manner by cutting a mock ribbon on the screen while the rest cheered him.Ajay and Konkona were seen happily posing for the cameras. The lead pair of the film also shared some of their funny experiences with guests in real life. Debutante Producer Amita Pathak also shared her experiences of handling her new role as a producer.

Scheduled to release on February 26, 2010, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? is a laugh riot produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and Wide Frame Films starring National Award winners Ajay Devgn, Paresh Rawal and Konkona Sen Sharma and directed by Ashwni Dhir.
The website named www.atithithefilm.com has been designed by Digit 9 and will have all the information about the movie – right from the latest pictures to trailers and other interesting trivia about the film.In a very unique move, the producers had also launched the high definition theatrical trailer of the film on the Apple website on January 13, 2010. The promo received a very enthusiastic response from fans who shared their anticipation towards the film by posting their comments on the same.Being one of the newest comedies coming out in the New Year, Atithi… already is the talk of the town especially with its unusual and extremely talented star cast.

India is a country that has glorious tradition of welcoming the guests and the illustriousness of tradition goes back to the times of Mahabharata and Ramayana. But in the modern times where the spiraling prices, and the pigeonholed existences have become more of a norm, any guest who tries to pile on, becomes a bone in the neck that can neither be spewed out nor swallowed. New Delhi, March 1 (IANS) After playing a spoilt brat in ‘Dev D’ and a thief in ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’, Abhay Deol is back to entertain viewers with his next ‘Road, Movie’, which releases Friday. But this time he plays a ’sheltered young man who wants to see the world’ and finds salvation by screening cinema across a desert.

Produced by Ross Katz and Susan B. Landau for Rs.80 million ($1.8 mn), the 95-minute film has been directed by Dev Benegal. It also stars Tannishtha Chatterjee, Satish Kaushik and debutant Mohammed Faizal Usmani apart from Abhay.
‘Road, Movie’ is a celebration of cinema. It’s actually a film that you are watching within a film. It plays upon how important it (cinema) is to us and how it is treated and accepted. It is a journey of cinema,’ Abhay told IANS.
‘It’s very enjoyable, much more light and not serious and preachy. We don’t make any great statements with this film. It’s just totally made to enjoy the ride,’ he said.

The story of ‘Road, Movie’ revolves around Vishnu (Abhay), a restless young man, who itches to escape his father’s faltering hair oil business.
An old truck beckons and Vishnu sees it as his ticket to freedom. He offers to drive the antique vehicle across the desert as it has been sold to a museum. As he sets off across the harsh terrain of the desert in India, he discovers he’s not merely transporting a battered vehicle but an old touring cinema.
Along the way, Vishnu reluctantly picks up a young runaway (Usmani), a wandering old entertainer (Kaushik) and a striking gypsy woman (Tannishtha). Together they roam in the barren land, searching for water and an elusive fair. The journey takes a turn when they are waylaid by corrupt cops and a notorious water lord.

The key to their freedom is the eccentric collection of films and the two forty-year-old film projectors in the back of the truck. As in ‘1001 Nights’, if the films are good, they live and move on. If the films are boring, they face death in the outback.

The journey proves transformative for each of the travelers, but especially for Vishnu who discovers life, love and laughter on the Indian highway.

Produced by the US-based Ross Katz and Susan B. Landau, and presented by The Indian Film Company and Studio 18, the script of the Dev Benegal-directed feature was an official selection at the L’Atelier du Cannes in 2006. Road, Movie (in Hindi) is India’s first breakthrough feature at TIFF’09 – an official selection that will have a world premiere at The Winter Garden Theatre on September 18′ 2009.

Full Movie Review: Ikkon Pictures Pvt. Ltd presents a nerve wrecking and a bone trembling flick Rokkk, starring Udita Goswami, Shaad Randhawa, Nishigandha Wad, Tanushree Datta and Sachin Khedekar. A fictional flick and a film with supernatural powers, the movie is directed by Rajesh Ranshinge.

The story revolves around two sisters Anushka and Ahana. Anushka falls in love with a person named Ravi who was marrying for the second time, as his first wife Pooja was dead. Anushka’s mother considered this marriage unethical as well as was completely against the two and refused to accept their relation. However Ahana stood well besides Anushka and helped her in every situation.

Anushka and Ravi soon after their marriage shift to a beautiful home purchased by Ravi and start their life with full enthusiasm and happiness. They lived happily and were at ease until one day when unexpected incidents start occurring in Anushka’s life. Going mad by the incidences, Anushka tries to share her thoughts with the husband, but Ravi fails to understand. Being tired of Anushka’s madness, Ravi plans to shift to his old house.

However the bad vibes follow Ravi in this house too. Anushka gets scared, her life starts becoming hell and suspects of Pooja (Ravi’s first wife) being the reason behind this petrified situation. Exhausted of the horror, Anushka seeks advice through some healer. The healer tells her of the house being accursed and tells to keep away from the same, as one who will pass through the shadow of the house will die a painful death. While Anushka tries to reason out the reason behind the happenings, her husband and sister-in-law get murdered and she is charged guilty for the same.

Unable to see her sister suffer, Ahana lends a helping hand to Anushka and plans to take her out of the predicament. In asylum Ahana meets Ranveer, a cop in charge of the case. Ranveer tells about the charges imposed on Anushka and also shows her the way out of the asylum. In their journey to save Anushka, the two get cursed by the shadow of the house and meet the same healer, who helps them unfolding the mystery. The nerve wrecking incidents and spine chilling thrills take place as the secret of the accursed house slowly unfolds and gets revealed.

This Multiplex film is primarily targeted towards the youth who can easily relate to this subject communicated intelligently with natural and warm performances. A sources said Claudinette accused Jean of having an adult affair with Lisa Ellis: “She jumped to the conclusion that something may be up between Wyclef and Lisa. Paarthathum Karainthen (Vijay Yesudas & Chitra)
It is refreshing to listen to Chithra after a long time. Vijay’s voice fits this melodious song. The tabla has been used very effectively. The songs flows nicely without any interruption and is very appealing which is credit to themusic director. This is easily the best song of the album.

Pesum Minsaram (Benny Dayal)
Benny Dayal is able to get to the high pitches without a lot of effort. This stylish song has all the makings of a good hit. Watch out for the nice change in pitch throughout the song. I am officially adding Benny Dayal to my list of favorite singers.

Thigatta Thigatta (Deepa Mariam)
Another melody song with a lot of emphasis on Rhythm. Deepa Mariam is very impressive with her slightly nasal vocal. The violin has also been used to good effect. This song is all about falling in love and will delight the purists.

Yaradhu Yaro (Belli Raj & Madhusri)
This song has a slightly futuristic tune with a nice Disco beat. It is very catchy . Belli and Madhusri are effective.

Yathumaagi Nindrai (Benny Dayal)
Bharathiyar would be proud of James for this composition. it is very difficult to create a tune for such a famous poem but James has come up with a a trendy arrangement without being disruptive.

Koothadichidava ( P. Prasad, Ramkumar, Vijay Uma & Sarayu)
The only song in the album with a Gana backdrop. It is a decent effort.

James has not been able to recreate the magic like he did with Subramnaymapuram but he is a quality music director and miles ahead of music directors who have been around for a while. He is really there along with Yuvan and Vidyasagar. He will be able to reach great heights if he maintains his high standard and focus.
